Brand New Synology DS1520+ and DS1621xs+ NAS Revealed Good news for anyone waiting for a new NAS from Synology and want to ensure they get the ‘latest generation’ with the reveal (thanks to Luka @ BlackVoid) of a new Synology Diskstation device, the Synology DS1520+ NAS. Although reveal might be a tad strong, given that the model ID is largely all we know at this stage. Though, thanks to the architecture of Synology model IDs, we can make some educated guesses about the hardware. However, we are currently unable to identify whether it serves as the predicted update to the DS1019+ (eg Intel Celeron, NVMe, 2x LAN, plastic chassis) or an update to the older DS1517+ (Intel Atom, 4x LAN, metal Chasis).
