Hi all,

Read a lot about these possibilities.

All options using moments ds photo etc are too much for what is required.

What should is that when connected to a wifi network files (usually photos) from the phone are uploaded and/or synced to the Nas.
Automatic without having to open the app on the phone first is desirable so that you cannot 'forget' it.

Just say the Dropbox functionality but without using Dropbox.

Another issue is that in phones with an SD card the camera puts the photos on the SD by default, in some tests it turned out that the syno app could not read the SD card and that is not convenient / workable.
I would prefer to stick with a syno app solution, but if there is a good alternative in the form of another app, does anyone have an idea?

Thanks people, @Shadow the ds cloud app does it work also when you have not started the app manually? I would like to use a solution which is one time setup and forget about it

I use Acronis TrueImage Mobile solution for this.

This is my way of set-and-forget solution, but TIM will not work all models of NAS CPU, but there are ways to set it up so that it does work, but it might a bit of an overkill in those cases.

I have yet to need a restore but have tried to randomly test restore and access and it works just fine. More than fine I dare to say.

Yes, when setup correctly it should run as a background service. When you configure the app, go into Settings and watch for this text:

If it says it will not automatically start, click on it and the app will take you to the Android 'Optimized apps' for power saving settings where in this list you have to find the DS cloud app and add it to the Android exceptions.

Now this will be entirely up to you, but on every device I also changed this Notification setting of the app:

To prevent users from being bugged regularly about status updates.

I do have to admin, but occasionally I've seen this application hanging on 'Connecting...' status. Restarting the app (or the phone) helps resolves this. I hope Synology brings out a fix for this one day.

We can thank Google for that... If you root the phone you can get around that problem but I'm not really in favor of rooting phones.
