No issues with the DS620slim so far, and it is much faster than my old DS214play. I have it loaded with a 500GB SSD for the OS and miscellaneous storage, and two 8TB SSDs for media. Since I use the Roon system for music playback, indexing of new additions to the library happens within seconds. As the 8TB drives are primarily read-only, I'm not so worried about drive failure (although I do backup the drives elsewhere). I like that the SSDs keep the NAS box silent, vs. the constant vibration the DS214play has. I have three bays free, and may install a fourth SSD for dedicated Surveillance Station usage (due to the amount of writes).

I personally put in 6 small 8Tb SSDs from Micron, a jewel of speed and silence!
But you can also put in 6 mechanical 2.5" hard disks... up to 5Tb.
