Hi,

I'm running the latest DNS Server (2.2.1-5023) on my DS916+ (DSM 6.2.2-24922), additionally Synology Directory Server (4.4.5-0093).

I'm constantly seeing those messages in DNS Server protocol from various of my AD-clients (Windows 10 Pro):

updating DNS.jpg

It usually starts with an error and some info messages about insufficient access rights. But there are log entries that show the opposite:

updating DNS 2.jpg

It's not always the same client that causes those errors in DSN protocol.

Interestingly, this client 192.168.20.1 which DSN could be updated in previous screenshot, just failed before:

So, what's the deal with those errors? Anything I can solve at all?

cu,
Michael

I'm not sure how these permissions can be set on Synology systems, but with Windows AD and DNS admins have to option to configure within DNS to allow updates from ALL network clients or only from domain clients (or none at all)...
