My team (3 of us) have been grabbing files from my NAS on the road. That works if we all remember to put back the modified files.

We have an expensive add on to word that we'd like to use remotely. It is practically too expensive to buy for 3 remote machines. We have a dedicated PC for this add-on tool that we can use Windows remote desktop when we are physically present. With the mandated at-home work, we really need access.

I have seen team viewer used to have some flashing to my car. I read they want a serious license for business use though.

Is there a good, easy to implement package to implemet this? I wouldn't mind limiting it to the 3 machines we will use on the road.

I noticed a VPN server in package center. Is that better than a program on a PC?

VPN into the on where the machine is located and then use RDP just like you are located on site.

Another way, if you only want to access the files and not work within DSM itself.. Mount your folders through WebDAV and the folders appears on your PC just as they are local folders (more or less). I've used "NetDrive" for this purpose earlier, works pretty good unless you're working with very large files.

Where is the NAS located and there is the PC that you connect to it remotely? Are they both on the same location or not?

The NAS is at my office. There is a PC there I configured yesterday. I used AeroAdmin. I want to connect to that PC from my house. Aeroadmin seems to work OK. We bough a mini PC with an SSD for this connection. If it is on 24/7, I wanted to have somehting low power.

I like this idea. This is more like what I had in mind from the beginning. I loaded WebDAV. It is not jumping out how to mount the folders. If I could assign different access to different sub-folders, that woudl be usefull for another use.

Then just make a von server on your NAS, and this will let you inside your lan. After that is done just fire up your rdp client on your home pc and connect to the rdp machine in your office.

I don't know what this means. I was just posting that I found a solution with aeroadmin.
