Good morning. I currently own a DS218 with 2 disks installed ( 2 & 6TB ) in basic mode. I want to change the 2TB one for a new 6TB and also go for a RAID1 configuration afterwards....

FYI, in the disk I want to replace, in addition to docs/pics... I have also some synology packages.

What should be the easiest approach to do this ?

Thanks.

Then this is the scenario I would take. Backup all the data on the new 6TB drive that's not in the NAS. After that, pull the drives from the NAS and configure the new setup from scratch starting with the 6TB drive that was inside. Setup DSM fresh and configure the volume as SHR (with that single 6TB in there). When that's done, copy the data from the new 6TB drive onto your NAS. After that wipe it and add it in the NAS as a member of that SHR volume.

SHR will be the same as RAID1 regarding redundancy.
