This dude here has compiled open-vm-tools for DSM, so I know it's definitely possible.
I once tried this by myself by using Synology Package Toolkit on an Ubuntu VM but after a lot of trying and failing I finally gave up.
Now, a year later, I'll bite the bullet and try again and hope to find some help on this by some of you more experienced guys.
My first very basic question is: Can and/or should I use spksrc project to compile open-vm-tools instead of the official Synology Package Toolkit?
Does it make things easier or not? Any recommendations on this I should be aware of on how to start this project?
Any suggestions are very appreciated!
