Hey guys. Years ago I bought an email client called Eudora which had served me well until recently. My current isp has change ports and there's not a way to change it in Eudora.

I've tried unsuccessfully to get mail plus to link to my isp to get my mail, "I hate web mail." Can anyone first tell me if Mail plus can download my mail from my isp's server. If so, can you direct me to a youtube video as I've tried getting it to work with the help of a Synology tech. no luck. TIA

What port did your ISP change? I am able to pull all my emails from Gmail to my NAS with no issues.

But on your ISP side, you need to know if any port is available to allow the email clients to connect, e.g. port 465, 587. Usually, ISPs block port 25 to prevent sending spam emails.

Ok, I have to pat myself on the back for this one as I just got it working. One question, is there a way to create a windows desktop icon to launch it instead of loading the browser and logging into dsm to check email? Also, I have 2 email accounts, would I need to set up a separate account in DSM to add it to mail plus?

Hey Equinox. our emails must have crossed. I got it setup with my ISP email account just now. Just need to figure out a few minor conveniences such as an additional account, notification of incoming and a possible windows short cut. I love puzzles!

You can login to your mailbox with a Brower, then bookmark it. Next time when you assess your mailbox, just click the bookmark.
For the incoming notice, you may find a Brower plugin and install it into your Brower.

While I was setting up the new mail plus, my old program started working. Am starting to despise these machines. I'll leave mail plus installed but just try it for a while. Thank you for the assist. I found the push notification for it, but when I hit install, nothing happens. one more puzzle!

I am not sure what push notification you refer to and what browser you are using. I don't use browser extensions/plug-ins. I used to access my email via Windows outlook, but now I am getting used to using a browser bookmark.

You can install the MailPlus app on your cell phone.

Ok, everything is now working. I have mail plus downloading the mail from my isp's server for both accounts without setting up my own server. Don't even need the browser open to receive new email alerts. pretty cool. Can easily add other users if they want.

Have you tried sending emails? ISPs usually block port 25 to prevent people from sending spam. Or what is your workaround solution?

Yes. Sending/receiving is working great. Only notice 2 emails which aren't being dl'd from my isp to the nas. Both are advertisements, but it's odd. Needs further testing but am at least receiving E-mails!
