Hi,
I've got a DS414j I've had for a few years now and I've got an email alert and error beep today informing me one of the fans has failed. Taking a look at the Synology website it appears that the official part (EAN 4711174729593 / UPC 846504009596) is end of life and Synology no longer sell replacements.
I'm trying to figure out what specification the fan is so I can source a suitable 3rd party one. While the Synology site gives the dimensions, that's as far as it goes. As far as I can tell (without shutting mine down and opening it up) it's a 3 pin fan. I'm assuming it's going to be a 5V fan but is there anything else I need to consider when buying a replacement? e.g. does a fan need to be capable running within a specific rpm range?
And can I get away with a slightly deeper fan? e.g. a 25mm rather than 20mm?
thanks
