Shared Folder Sync isn't working

RS815+, DS216j
So I've set up a Shared Folder Sync from my RS815+ to my DS216j. It worked well for a while but lately, I've found that files aren't being synced. The only way to get the files across is to start a manual full sync. The logs tell me nothing except that a sync was triggered and then immediately finished.

Any ideas about what I may be missing?

Maybe try a combination of Drive and CloudStation ShareSync instead? (Synology homedirs can't be synced with this method tough...)

what is the purpose of the Shared folder sync between two NASs? It can help us to find a solution for you

Well, I have a Plex server set up on the RS that is my main server. I've set up Shared Folder Sync to sync my Media folder to the DS, which has a secondary Plex install that I was going to utilize while traveling. I was working fine but lately, it has stopped syncing some videos. For a season, it might sync all but 1 or 2 videos.

I actually tried that first but the sync speed was horrible.

1. The r-sync task is running within LAN or WAN?
2. What kind of connection (parameters) is between the RS and DS (sync tasks)?
3. Then your problem is based on r-sync option: Run sync on modification?
4. What are resources consumption at the DS site?

Drive and Cloud station is not right tools for Plex media (even for movies) syncing, specially when you have slow connection with enabled versioning and consistency check, with really small performance at DS216j side.

  1. LAN
  2. IP Address with a sync account and custom SSH port.
  3. I had 'On Modification' selected. Also tried others. Only clicking 'Full Sync' actually syncs everything.
  4. Only Plex. Volume has 26% space left.

1. & 2. what kind of LAN (wired, what spec., WiFI, what kind of adapters,...) need more detailed answer about RS & DS connection background
4. is there (DS side) a concurrent operation ( Running Syno or 3rd party Apps) during the Sync task? What is the resources consumption during this scenario (CPU, RAM)? Still meaning just the DS site.

Sorry, both NAS' are connected via cat6 cable to the same UniFi Switch 8. Throughput via SNMP on the switch is around 50 Mbps at the time of the sync.

There is absolutely nothing else running on the DS. I literally took it out of the box, installed the HDDs, booted it up, went through the configuration wizard, installed Plex, and set up the sync.

At the time of the sync, the DS sits around 60% on CPU and 40% on RAM.

It does. That's what the web UI of Drive looks like using a web browser.
