I've got a server (not a "nas") that has some age on the internal drives. This "server" is a windows computer that is on 24/7 and pretty much runs the media duties of the house.

It's drives all have age on them, and I'm in upgrade mode ;)

Any reason why a WD SMR (EFAX) drive(s) can NOT be used as a single drive, this is not going to be in a nas or part of any raid array. This particular machine has 5 individual drives and I'm going to slowly upgrade them as finances allow. And I've got a chance to buy some SMR (yes those WD EFAX) drives and just wanted opinions about using them as individual drives, but they will be running 24/7 just as single drive letters.

I personally don't see any issue? Am I wrong?
