My US-XG6 has died - no lights, no fan and almost zero power being pulled from the DC brick. Over the last month UI Support has pushed me around in a loop and then to RMA and UI RMA pushes me back to support as the unit is 17 months old.

Bummer.

So for now I have pulled the patch leads from the 10GbE switch and plumbed them into the 'emergency' row on my US-48.

Going back to 1GbE speeds is a bit of a shock.

Not having much luck this year. Dead Syno at my remote location, my previous UPS failed and I have had to temporarily rob the Windows server from out of my rack to help someone with their own woes. The back of my rack is now a wiring disaster area.

I think my wallet is on fire too.🔥

there only single power source can be used at one time.

you couldn’t measure a power from the Power brick contacts when standard power adapter is in use.
Did you checked (by multimeter):
- power supply from the power adapter (54V, DC)
- do you have 40W/57V DC power source to check the external power?

If you mean the simultaneous use of the screw terminals and the barrel jack then yes you are correct, with the highest voltage supply being the winner. If you mean only one supply source can be used at a time then no, as there is nothing wrong in adding extra power supplies in parallel.

Did you checked (by multimeter):
Yes

Yes

If you mean checking the DC brick itself then yes, both at the AC end for current and at the DC end for current, voltage and for any ripple or AC bleeding through - the DC brick is ok.

If you mean substituting the provided DC brick for a 'known good' DC source - yes, when bench tested, achieving the same results when applying power via the barrel jack or via the screw terminals:
