I have read everything I can and watched hundreds of YT vids.

I have Synology Drive setup and can see my NAS profiles (drives?) Under the network tab in File Explorer on my PC. My question then is - why do I need to map these to give them a letter?

As @Telos has said, you don't have to. But if you want make transferring files to/from your NAS easier, you may create a Windows drive letter for each of your NAS Shared Drives. Then, it is easy to copy/paste to/from your NAS/PC.

You said in your DSM 7.1 - How do I actually get files into synology Drive on the NAS so I can see them ony PC? post that you could not "transfer files from my personal account to Drive". You also said that you could do these things with your ADMIN account.

So, the question I am asking you is this (the same as #3 here)...
Are you able to (Can you) MAP (on your Windows PC) one of your Synology NAS Shared Drives with your "personal account"?

The answer to this question as well as the other questions I have ask here, will assist those of us who want to help you figure out what you are doing wrong.

That's not universally correct. I have no NAS mapping issues with W10/W11 Pro.
