I popped an approved 10G NIC in my RS820. Reconfigured the network connections, so that all traffic goes via. eth4 (1st port on the card.)
This has negotiated 10G connection with the cisco SG350X. I also enabled jumbo frames (don't know why I hadn't done before.)

Setup is a DS1821+ with 20GB RAM and Synology 10G Card (copper).
Drives are WD RED 2TB SSDs or EXOS X16 16TB HDDs
- 2x SSDs in RAID0 (DS and DX)
- 4x HDDs in RAID10 (DS and DX)
- 4x SSDs in RAID10 (DS only)

Does anyone have any experience of these adapters. They seem to be what I need to get my iMac to work optimally with my 1621+ NAS. There seem to be a good many reports of them overheating and/or failing. Advice would be appreciated and really helpful. Thanks
