I'd like to use the same files in nextcloud and the samba share, so they are synced and don't take twice the space.
Is it possible?
I have a DSM7 with nextcloud 22.2.0 and followed this guide to install it
How to Install Nextcloud on Your Synology NAS
Thanks in advance
I have a nas with DSM 7 and nextcloud installed with docker.
Is it possible to use the same directory to be shared by nextcloud and samba to save storage space and having to sync the data?
Access the same data it both ways
Permissions, are the first thing that comes to mind...
Does anyone have any idea if I'm doing something wrong or NextCloud has some bug to talk to a Synology Directory Server?
See below screenshot:

From within the Docker container I'm able to ping the AD server just fine..
In this tutorial, we are going to use Docker compose to install the NextCloud official Docker image with Portainer.
This is going to be just one of many ways to install NextCloud. I am going to show you my way.
First, you need to have Docker installed on your NAS (if it's...
Kinda taking your advice and I've installed Portainer and then Nextcloud. As it looked easy with no CLI I followed this tutorial. Synology: How to Install Nextcloud Using Docker

I have Nextcloud working on my Synology (DSM 6.2.4) using Docker. Yesterday I was unable to login via its website. I get an error "405 Not Allowed" which appears to be an Nginx message. I am able to login and use my Nextcloud via its iOS app. But anything via http/s seems to fail. I have another...

I think this is a Nextcloud problem but maybe I can bodge a fix on my install?
Nextcloud up and running via Docker. Does the business via its webpage. Now we want the client apps to sync document to/from/with macOS desktop and iOS iPad/iPhones. Easy, download and install the app. But the app...
No idea about Docker but I've got it running and installed Nextcloud and that seems to work too! :) I've used Nextcloud from the Docker hub as that seems the most official.

I recently installed NextCloud 17 locally on my 918+. So far I'm very happy with it except it doesn't come with full text search out of the box.
One needs to install a few NextCloud apps (easy enough) plus a Search Platform (Elastic Search is recommended).
