600 gb of unknown files

600 gb of unknown files

Well I have a rather odd situation where there is about 600gb worth of storage space that I can not identify.
All various GUI tools (including storage analyzer) report the expected sizes for the various shares but there are clearly other files (again, worth 600gb) that don't show up.
Is there a tool that will scan everything. If not I guess I will have to resort to SSH...

Thanks - SSH to the rescue. Now I am not sure how to interpret this

Code:
root@syno-sx-02:/volume1# du -h -d1
61M ./@database
56K ./@userpreference
72K ./@S2S
3.8M ./@SynoFinder-log
28K ./@SynoFinder-etc-volume
685M ./@appstore
9.7M ./@appdata
0 ./@apptemp
0 ./@apphome
28K ./@appconf
72M ./@ActiveBackup
14G ./ActiveBackupforBusiness
156K ./@eaDir
6.5M ./logs
590G ./@img_bkp_cache
12K ./@sharesnap
64G ./O365Backup
0 ./NFSShare
16K ./@tmp
668G .

as I don't see much in the root folder...

is here your 600GB: a cache folder for active backup for business?

14G ./ActiveBackupforBusiness
156K ./@eaDir
6.5M ./logs
590G ./@img_bkp_cache

If you are referring to this...

That is simply the total space used by volume1

df -h

Got a response from Synology support, the .xz file is a Linux compressed format. Use 7zip to uncompress it.
