Important Update

(2024-11-26)

Important notes

  1. Your Synology NAS may not notify you of this DSM update because of the following reasons. If you want to update your DSM to this version now, please click here to update it manually.
    • The update is not available in your region yet. The update is expected to be available for all regions within the next few days, although the time of release in each region may vary slightly.
    • Your DSM is working fine without having to update. The system evaluates service statuses and system settings to determine whether it needs to update to this version.
  2. This update will restart the device.
  3. To enhance product security, the following packages will require a manual update after this release. Please go to the Package Center and click Repair to install the latest versions:
    • Synology Drive Server 3.5.1-26102
    • Replication Service 1.3.0-0423

Fixed Issues

  1. Minor bug fixes.

Installed on experimental 720+ via DS FINDER.
Then tested with the APPS used: DS FINDER, DS FILE, DS CAM (including recordings after update), DRIVE. Verified all 3rd party hardware still ok.
All appears ok. Nosy about bugfix.
When an update is pushed as fast as this, and notes are a bit vague, as this one is.. I’m more apt to jump on it early.
Another round of testing, Good, then install on 2nd 720+ & 718+

I had an e-mail this morning telling me that my 718+ had installed it by itself.
Everything seems to be fine but I have not done much work yet.
I was surprised to see that update installed automatically to be honest. 💁‍♂️

Regarding -2. And DS FINDER: 3.5.5-445
(Running on iPhone)
I have noticed that occasionally QC setting in DS FINDER goes low tally (Not highlighted), and displays as OFF, since -2. Other times it displays correctly, at high tally, showing QC.
Strangely, I happen to be using QC to connect to NAS via DS FINDER at the time, so what’s being displayed is not what’s being done. !!
I don’t ever recall DS FINDER doing this before -2.

But it still connects, so it’s not broke, just occasionally doesn’t display its correct info.

I’ve found (EDIT! 3) Work arounds:
Exit DS FINDER and reload,
OR,
Within DS FINDER, Toggle to different NAS and then toggle back to first one.
OR, (New 12/6)
Toggle to same NAS with Different Login

PS: DS CAM, DS FILE, continue to connect via QC since -2.
