Hello everyone

I tried to access hidden folders on my NAS for example @eaDir folder. I am trying to delete them on specific folders, but could not figure out a way to do so.
I looked on the web, and there is a way to do it with SHH, but I am not familiar with using terminal :(

Is there an easier way of doing that?

If you are on a Mac and can see the NAS in your finder window (SMB was turned on on the NAS) then you can type shift-command-period <shift><cmd><.> as that is the way to get all files including hidden ones to show up in a finder window. Then you can delete them from your finder.
To be able to see your NAS you need to have SMB, webDAV, or something similar turned on on the NAS and/or use the Connect-to-Server <cmd><k> function.
I would guess there is a similar way to see hidden files and folders on a PC but like the Macs, you would have to see them in an Explorer window.

Danger, Danger Will Robinson - I would be very careful deleting hidden folders. In my experience, hidden files and folders are system files and folders.
The same for using ssh, you can do serious damage or even brick your NAS with a wrong. command.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the reply, yeah I have tried this way with both AFP and SMB to connect to it on Finder, however, none of them show the @eaDir any thoughts and am sure this folder exists since i can see it on when choosing files on Plex

I'm with Bob on this, I don't think you should mess this or any hidden files or folders on your NAS. It would be better to find a setting within Plex to not display hidden files.

I did check and the system returns 'no such file or directory' when attempting to cd into it. These are obviously special files and directories that are most likely meant to be handled only by the OS.

This directory is for video station which I don't use anymore. i just need more space, and I believe it has a smaller version of my videos, which all take much space from my storage

Well, I'm not sure about rules here regarding linking to other sites, but if you do a search for 'synology @eadir' you'll come up with several sites offering how to remove said folders. Good luck.

Sorry, no I do not know more. <shift><cmd><.> usually shown all hidden files.
But maybe it is set to not be explorable/visible accessible to the user connecting it to the finder in Unix ACLs or permissions and you need to be root or a special user to see it.
