Hello, I was just wandering if I can backup an object (i.e. email, OneDrive, site) with the same name (email address) that had been deleted previously and then created again later in time. Will the backup software reference both copies with a unique ID or will it be merged?

Almost 100% it will be backed up as as new object. If the previous one was deleted in the tenant, and a new one crated, then the IDs are not identical.

That makes sense! Would I be able to restore the old object without overwriting the new one with the same name, though?

That is a great question but my guess restore might work as well but my money is on that it won’t. Overwrite could happen but I haven’t tested it this way so can’t say for sure.
