Active Backup for Microsoft 365 - The size of the copy differs from the mailbox

Hi,

When backing up Office 365 mailboxes, the size of the copy differs from the size of the mailbox displayed in Outlook.

I did a test with a mailbox that has 20GB of occupation, and another 48GB. The maximum limit of the mailboxes is 50GB with the licenses currently contracted (Business Essential, Business Standard).

In the first case, the difference is 10GB, in the second approximately 20GB.

I am testing the functionality with newly created mailboxes, thinking that perhaps the problem does not occur if the mailbox is backed up from the beginning with Active Backup for Microsoft 365.

What might the difference be? What is the solution?

We wanted to use Active Backup to back up company emails.

Thanks in advance.

The difference is present in the initial backup of large mailboxes (20GB, 48GB). In these cases, there are differences of 10 GB and 20 GB respectively between Active Backup and Outlook. Backing up a newly created (smaller) mailbox there is a little difference, I assume because of the size of some kind of Outlook metadata: 1.2GB (Active Backup) vs 1.42GB (Outlook). Thanks.

I don't see an option to count the total number of emails in the backup, only the total size of the mailbox backed up by Active Backup. Any other ideas? Thanks.
