Active Backup for Workspace - Restore Multiple TB Directory (from Google Drive backup) to Local

Hi Folks,

Long time reader, first time poster. I have an issue that I cannot find any answers to. Here goes:

1.) I have a Google Workspace backup from a domain;
2.) The file I'm restoring is actually a multiple-TB backup that was created with Hyper Backup;
3.) The Google Workspace domain that was originally backed up no longer exists (was amalgamated into another instance);
4.) When I use the restore portal to attempt to restore the directory, if I click export as if to download it, the Synology starts a zip process;
5.) I was able to find the temporary zip file that was growing and growing over multiple days and would have failed as, I believe, a 3 TB zip file is beyond the limit of most zip files;
6.) My goal is to attempt to export the directory directly to a folder on the Synology;

Does anyone know a work around of any kind that would allow me to do this without compression and keep the operation strictly local?

I appreciate the help.

DSM: 7.1
Active Backup: 2.2.2-12505
* Note: The backup was created on a much older version of Active Backup for Gsuite, likely around version 2.2.0-12405

I’m not sure how pertinent the reference to Hyper Backup is in all this: you were backing up a NAS to your Google storage using HB, and that was multi-version (HB vault format) or single-version (folders and files)?

Then you‘ve used AB to re-backup the Google storage back to a NAS? And now you want to recover working data from the AB then HB backups? But the only option you get is to extract multiple items as zip files?

I don’t use the AB for Google, but do use ABB. Have you tried manually extracting by smaller subsets of folders and then reconstructing the folder structure?

Correct. We had a Synology system a few years ago that got corrupted. During a cleanup, we found a Hyper Backup of the old unit that was uploaded to Google Drive (as a Hyper Backup File). Then, Active Backup for Google Workspace backed up Google Drive. I need to restore specific folder that contains the Hyper Backup file ... that currently sits inside the ABB from Google Drive. Essentially, restoring the backup of the backup -- but restoring to the cloud isn't an option.

A multi-version HB vault isn’t a single file, it just looks like that in File Station, in reality it’s a folder: just like applications in macOS look like single files with a .app extension, but they are really folders.

So you may be able to make partial exports as zip files if you dive into HB vault. If not initially possible then maybe right-click it to see if an option to open as folder is given.

I could potentially try that. There are over 1000 512mb files in the pool folder, but that's an option. Great suggestion.

Anyone else have something more lazy :P Click, bang, done?
