Android App Not Backing Up DNGs

Hi,

I recently purchased both a Pixel 8 Pro and a DS1522+ and was trying to get Synology Photos to backup my photos. The JPG is backed up fine, but the DNGs are not uploaded with a "UNSUPPORTED FORMAT" and "The following files were not backed up due to corruption or compatibility issues."

Does anybody know what might be going on? I had no issues with backing up DNGs from my Pixel 4a (5G) on my older Synology using DS photo. This is extremely frustrating.

Welcome to the forum.

There are three current mobile apps that feature backing up photos: Photos Mobile; Drive; DS file. That’s on iOS but I guess Android is the same.

They all allow you to choose the upload folder. Only thing is I’m not sure what formats they upload, and if they ignore any.

Thanks fredbert, but I'm trying to understand why the Synology Photos app thinks the DNGs my phone generates are "unsupported?" As I also mentioned, the older "DS Photo" app backs up DNGs fine. DNGs are also listed as supported at Synology Photos Technical Specifications | Synology Inc. so I'm not sure what the issue is.

I agree, was just suggesting other ways to try if this is a problem before you get a fix.

I'm not sure...I thought DNG was a standard though. It's incredibly frustrating.
