Hi, I'm considering reconfiguring my ds213j with new disks and I'm looking to install two new Seagate x18 18tb drives on it. They're not listed as compatible looking at the compatibility list but I know that list ins't the most up to date/comprehensive/USEFUL for anyone not needing synology's support. Does any one know if I'll have an issue getting these two drives recognized at full capacity and working? Right now I'm still on DSM 5.2 because of some third party software but I think I'm going to upgrade to 7.1 as part of this reconfiguration and maybe resetting the entire thing. Any info regarding this will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I know this an old thread but where can I find "the Incompatibility drive matrix"?

Go to this site:

Pick your NAS model and choose HDD/SSD from the drop downs, then click the link that says "incompatible models." This will bring up a window that lists any drives that Synology has specifically defined as not compatible.

Note that models not listed as compatible or not compatible may work fine but they haven't been verified either way by Synology. But if Synology specifically says a drive model is not compatible I would not use that drive in my NAS.

Also note that the incompatibility may just be the firmware on the drive. For one of my NAS devices, Synology had a couple of their drives on the incompatibility list but that seems to be due to a specific firmware version because the same drive was listed on the compatibility list but with a newer firmware.
