Hi all,

The diagram is showing how I backed up my files currently.

However, my QNAP is screaming for not enough disk space now.... I can replace a larger HDD.

I would also like to understand if there is any suggestion for backing up between pc to NAS & NAS to NAS. Is there any other Synology apps or method that can help in backup and save some more space?

Thank you

Please explain a bit. It is not possible to use Hyper backup to backup a pc, also the active backup path to qnap I do not understand,

Not sure if your objectives are clear.
What do you need? versioning? how many? how often? Is there fast moving and slow moving data?
Are your nasses on different location?

Why do you backup the PC instead of storing all data immediately at the NAS?

Hi EAZ,

I am running ABB backup on my pc as well. It is a schedule task. You are right, I am not running backup to QNAP by ABB. It is my mistake. It is using rsync. Honestly, my NAS are not in different location... I know it is not the best as backup..... for now, I am trying to avoid HDD failure..

Objective:

  1. I stored all my music and photo on the Synology NAS. Hence, want to make a back up copy to QNAP. The photo is the most important data for me as they are all my kid pictures..
  2. Backup files in PC to NAS... just in case any issue. I got some bad experience that my pc hdd crashed and lost everything....
  3. Reason for not storing all the data at the NAS is more speed. I have to admit that I do not have huge volume of data in PC.
