Hi, I have an external usb disk formatted in ext4 which I use for my weekly backups with hyperbackup. When I check the files in disk that I'm backing up, I find a folder called usbshare1 which contains a file called DS220plus.hbk. My questions are:

  • is this folder contained in the main disk? I assume that it is because it is listed with all other directories
  • if it contains an image of the usb disk (or a journal, or whatever), which I do not need, may I delete it?
  • if this folder contains the image or the journal of the usb disk, what should I do to avoid this feature? (other than usinf FAT32 as the file system for the usb, of course)

The usbshare1 is not a folder, it is the operation system name for the usb disk itself. If you eject-remove the usb, it will disappear. De backup data is in the file xxx.hbk.

So this backup data is not on your main disks.
