Hi,

DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 4
Backing up to USB drive. Worked fine until the drive filled up. Now the backup is suspended.

What do I do now?

Why didn't HB tell me the backup wouldn't fit before it started?
Why suspend instead of backing up what it could then, "Backup could not complete because destination is full"?
Why discard the whole backup if you can't resume instead of closing the backup session and recommending getting a bigger drive?
So anyway I'm a little frustrated.
Thanks
Bob

Sorry for the frustration, but as the sys admin, the responsibility to monitor available drive space lies squarely on your shoulders.

Feel your pain as I'm having the exact same trouble. However, I did get an alert to say the backup drive was running out of space. I've got text message alerts set up so I got a text "USB drive 1 on My-Server is running out of space".

But it only took 24 hours to completely fill up, which is what I now need to investigate...

Backup software cannot accurately predetermine what its final backup size is going to be. You need to pre-check for expected space requirements. This is something you need to monitor outside of your backup process; as a part of your system administration process.
