i have a ds1819 with data on it. i have 6 drives in a raid 10 config.
i was backing up the data from the nas using hyperbackup to a rsync server that is connected to a usb hard drive enclosure with hard drives in it.
i just bought a ds1821+ which will be located at a different location, but on the same network as the ds1819 via a personal vpn.
what i would like to do is keep the data the same on both the ds1819 and ds1821 and then to continue to backup to the drives via hyperbackup and rsync.
what i tried already was the following:
right clicked the folder and hit copy and then right clicked pasted in a usb drive for the shared folders on the ds1819.
i then connected the usb drive to the ds1821 and right clicked copy and then pasted the data in the shared folders on the ds1821.
i then setup syno drive share sync two way sync between the ds1819 and ds1821. just to be clear the shared folders on both nas's were named exactly the same and data was exactly the same (subfolders, files, etc.)
when i ran the task it started to update/sync files started off like 20 then jumped to hunderds and i panicked and stopped the task.
not sure if it would be okay to do as i did again or if i should leave the new nas drives blank and let it download from the ds1819 and put on the ds1821.
if i were to use drive share sync can i setup a schedule when i want the sync to run and also have the option manully force sync?
i have seen snapshot replication being talked about, should that be setup as well?
what are the best options for me based off the above?
thank you!
