I have Syncthing working well, on DSM 6.2, and looking to upgrade Syncthing to a the newer version for some specific settings.

Is it possible to upgrade Syncthin from v1.3.4 to v1.20.3 (community repo) and will the new version of Syncthing upgrade my database that's already in place, or would I need to start over with an empty data folder or database, and it's better to start fresh?

I've saved the /syncthing-data folder (set that aside) then stopped the current Syncthing v.1.3.4 package running, but gone so far as to install (and it looks like Synology is preventing the new package from being installed.

So Next step might be to also uninstall.

I'm wondering if these are the right steps before I do much more.

Also, if I want to revert, go back to and re-install v1.3.4... would putting a copy of the syncthing-data folder that was saved back in place (from that version) work to restore the prior version and original settings? If anyone has tried these steps or might know?

thanks
