New synology 720+ and no data on the drives, brand new, I went with a 10tb and a 6tb
I was under the impression that a 10TB and a 6TB would give me 8TB of usable space, in shr, is this not the case?
as can be seen in the picture it says total capacity of 5578m surely not correct?

wrong impression...
In a two disk setup, the smallest disk determines the size.
Let met phrase it differently: the disks should be mirrored, but if the disks are not equally sized, where to mirror the part that does not fit on the other disk?

Thank you all for clearing that up!
yeah I could at the time only afford a 6TB, I had bought the 10 over a year ago when it was cheaper.
