Recently installed ds220j and trying without success to connect USB3 Caddy.

Is anyone aware of any USB Caddy issues?

Caddy works fine connected directly to Mac.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

What drive is it inside? File format?

HFS+ should be compatible with dsm and should be visible.

Anything in the control panel section regarding external devices? Is the drive detected at least?

Not detected unfortunately.

NAS is brand new out of the box and configured with auto set up.

HDD? (Spinning disk drive id assume?)

How is the caddy powered? I would think it would need some external power, maybe theres not enough power on the nas usb to spin it up completely?

“ Any unrecognized external drive will have to be formatted first before being used on the system.”

Its formatted right?

This says journal not supported:

“Some models support HFS/HFS Plus with read-only.
Journal is not supported on HFS/HFS Plus.”

I made an edit to my previous, that you may not have seen. Does any of that apply? Regarding the hfs can only be in read only mode, and you mentioned journal

Don't think it applies.

Also I've tried 5 different HDD's and none of them show up....

Just tried flash drive and this works.

Looks like it could be a Icy Box Caddy issue.
