Anyone any ideas here.... I got prompted to update the Homebridge package to 3.0.15, it seemed to update okay, but I can no longer access the web UI.

I've restated the package but no difference...

Oh brilliant, so it looks like I need to do some complex / horrible / command line stuff to edit a bloody file. I have no ideas at all as to how to implement that work around.
I'm going to see if I can find an earlier version of Homebridge and reinstall that.

Make a backup before starting to work you should make a copy of the file using sudo cp filename new_filename

Do this command to start editing the file using vi: sudo vi /var/packages/homebridge/target/app/source.sh

Now use arrows keys to navigate to the right line and the place that needs changing. Tap i to enter insertion mode and type what you want to add at the cursor point, then <esc> to go back to navigating. Now go to the start or the text that you want to delete and press x to delete the character under the cursor. Repeat tapping x until all the text is removed. Any mistake can be undo by tapping u.

To finish type :wq! to write and quit. That should be it. If you want to exit without saving any changes use :q!.

Hmm this sounds like a real mess. I'm definitely not happy with editing config files and that editor sounds very linux, adn I really hate such tools. As I only use HomeBridge to bring my CCTV Cameras into the Home app on iOS. I can manage without it until a fixed version arrives.

Another example why you should move to docker Tek! Give it a go!

Nope! :) I did install Docker at one point and disliked it immediately. It adds complexity to my NAS which I don't need. I much prefer native packages where possible.

Issue fixed, as per discussions here, a new version which works can be obtained from here. I've just manually installed it on my DS918+ and it works for me!

Actually Unix. I learnt to use it when we had 10 Sun Sparc with nice monitors and a bunch of VT terminals connected to them. I was too lazy to rush into the office early to bag a Sparc so I learnt vi instead.

Shudder :) Definitely not for me!
You must've been the type that got up early in the morning then :) That's certainly not me, not then, not now!

Glad you've got the issue fixed.

LOl yep typically I'm up at around 5:30 to 6:00 and that's now I'm retired!
