Can't Access Mobile Apps While On Same Network

This group is my last resort as I haven't been able to find my answers elsewhere and I am at a complete loss. So I hope y'all can help!

I have everything set up and it is working flawlessly minus one small hurdle. Let me explain...

I am using a custom domain name and running through Cloudflare. I really, REALLY want to be as secure as possible and I have heard this is the best way.
I have subdomains set up - files.domain.com, I also have them set up in Cloudflare.
I have certificates set up and everything is working perfectly.
Using reverse proxy.

The problem and what is puzzling is this:
I can access files.domain.com on my computer and phone (web browser) while on the network and while off the network (cell).
However, I am unable to use the iOS apps while on the network using the domain and/or subdomain. This is a problem because I switch from my home network to traveling and vice versa and I dont want to have to update the login box every time I come on and off my home network.

I hope this makes sense because I have been pulling my hair out scouring the internet looking for an answer.

Which screenshot do you want? I have tried it all the following ways

I’m using the files app on iOS on my wifi w/ https switch toggled-
subdomain.domain.com - logging in constantly and doesn’t connect
sub.domain.com:443 - immediate error
sub.domain.com:5001 - logging in for a while and then gives error
sub.domain.com:7001 -logging in for a while and then gives error

Can you goto application portal and remove the customized ports of 7000/7001. Then go to reverse proxy and change files. Back to 5001

Ok done. Should I try logging back in now? with 443? Because I did and I got the same error.

Can you delete iOS ds file app res install, also reboot the nas

Yes. Use files domain :443

Can you delete iOS ds file app reinstall, also reboot the nas


5001 won’t work at all, because the port isn’t forwarded on the router.” (Atleast it shouldn’t if you want reverse proxy). The only port that should be forwarded on router is 443 to your nas.

Can you try the dsm domain name:443 on ds files

Also go into application portal, click on file station and send a screenshot of that

This is true and I do want reverse proxy.

Ok great. Can you now go into security and just temporarily turn off the nas firewall, test and see what happens

Turned off the firewall and tried....
files.customdomain.com:443 - immediately failed
dsm.customdomain.com:443 - immediately failed

Ok so let’s work in the reverse proxy now. Open up rp screen and click on files domain screenshot that.

Also confirm you only have one nas and the local ip is what you have listed in the rp rules

I do only have one NAS and you are correct that is the local ip

Does this issue occur both on cell and Wi-Fi?

In rp can you change local ip to localhost

That is correct. It is only the apps.
