Not sure if this is the right forum so please let me know if I should post this elsewhere.

I've set up a tailscale network with a couple of PCs and an android phone and tablet. I'm running the admin panel in a browser window on my windows 11 PC in chrome. I installed the tailscale package on my synology DS220+. When I hit the run button, it opens a new browser window with a message "Your device's key has expired. Reauthenticate this device by logging in again" with a Reathenticate button. If I press the button nothing happens. I've never been able to log in to my tailnet.

Has anyone seen this and know how to resolve it?

Thanks.

Are you running the Tailscale package that you downloaded from the Tailscale site? If not, try that.

Having the same issue, using the package from Tailscale and installing it manually did not fix it. Have also tried multiple browsers, just in case the "Reauthenticate" button wasn't working due to browser compatibility.

I'll reach out to Tailscale, but please post if anyone has a fix.

Got in touch with Tailscale support and they responded super fast with the answer that helped me. Seems using the package center can get a little wonky with the initial setup so SSH is suggested.

1. open a command prompt (or any other SSH terminal)
2. type "ssh <username>@<host ip>"
3. enter your password
4. type "sudo tailscale up"
5. enter your password
6. a unique URL will be generated
7. copy the unique URL into your browser (don't close the SSH terminal) and complete the authentication
8. once auth is completed, watch the terminal window and it should update with the text "Success."
9. you've now authenticated so close the terminal (enter 2 exit commands to close the SSH session and then close the command prompt, or just X out).
