Hi all,

I wanted to configure my new DS1621+ mainly as a photo storage/editing NAS and critical file backup. Not a high amount of storage at the moment. I also wanted a configuration that would be stable (in terms of data backup and having to replace drives less often), low power/heat and low noise.

So I installed 6 Ironwolf 125 2TB SSDs and performed SHR-2 only to find out that only about 5.3TB is available. Still may be enough space, but should I reconfigure now or start copying photos over? Can't help but think I wasted some money here, but have been reading about the growth of SSD and solid state seemed to make sense at the time....

Thanks,

Nikko

Decide now as you will not be able to change it later on without removing the data. So choose if that amount of data will be enough, otherwise reconfigure asap.
