We would like to share a page with an application form about a NAS testing program that we got from Ugreen. They have already contacted us recently (you can read more about it here).

Here are the details from Ugreen:
  1. We have 180 units of our new NAS products and the testers can keep them for FREE if they're chosen to be our NAS testers.
  2. Fill out the application form here: nas storage test (connection only works if you're in the US; use a VPN if necessary)
  3. Join our Official NAS Group (all new updates about testing will be announced in this group)

I joined "to program" last year, and they contacted me by generic mail and pointed to a Facebook group?
Since I don't use Facebook, not sure how serious that beta testing is if it's for Facebook only members ?

Did they send unit(s) already to you?

maybe looking for some free facebook marketing perhaps, to boost the Kickstarter campaign?

Same here. Thought it seemed pretty amateur so decided to ignore it.

looks like there some movement on this. I got a NDA to sign, and a promo code to order a 4 bay unit at no cost. Any thoughts?

crossing my fingers for a little project next week.

i emailed them say, please stop emailing me as i'm not getting back onto facebook just to look at your group...

well done on getting a promo code - interested to see what the hardware is like. their other stuff is really well made.

I will certainly report once I have the unit ( hopefully ) in my hands to mess with. I have 4 SSDs to chuck in it, and a vlan set up to segregate it from the rest of my network.

I've also received the NDA to sign. The agreement states the unit arrives bereft of hard drives… not going to buy new drives for a test unit but I do have some old spinning drives sitting around.

I would expect the hardware to be solid based on the other products. The big question mark is the state of their software.

will be curious to see how this goes...

For me, these evaluations are tedious and tiring. I'm not about to move or replicate my services to a beta product, nor am I likely to spend much time troubleshooting or pushing the hardware/software to its limits to see what "breaks". Kudos to those who make a solid effort to shake down new equipment. I'm busy enough with life.

To each his own, I like the challenge and participating in a project. Not to mention the free 4 bay premium NAS they are handing out in trade.

I will not be moving any of my services production or otherwise. Just putting some software and hardware through it's paces. I typically install and bug hunt Synology's and Qnap's as well when they have Beta packages.

You are welcome for the testing that goes into making a quality product that reached user qualification testing and approved, so you can be busy with your life and not worry about bugs.
