No, not a system functionality.
There is some on the btrfs, but not on a j type.
Anyway many modern files that are disk space hungry are already compresses (video, photo etc) so gains are pretty low on an average set of data.

Poor idea... even if you could. Get some larger drives... say 2x existing.
