DSM 7.1 Connect surveillance station to Hikvision DVR?

I think the answer will be a resounding no but can I in some some way connect my Hikvision DVR with 8 analogue cameras to Surveillance Station?

Lookup your cameras here to see if they're supported. The Surveillance Station system is based on IP cameras; these are cameras that provide an IP type feed as an output. Think 'digital', internet-aware type cameras that connect to your home network.
I'm no expert but the 'analogue' part of your description above sounds like your system is not an IP system (I could be wrong).

Either way, just look for your system in the compatibility list I linked.

No, they are not digital IP cameras but analog connected by wire to the DVR, which is connected to my network via ethernet cable. I just wondered if there is any way to connect them together in software.

That software would be Surveillance Station. Only you know the camera/system model in question; look em up in the link I posted. If they're in there, they're compatible.

There is also this guide to getting generic systems working; but you'd need to know some technical details about your system in question (eg what protocols it uses) to follow this.
