I'm new to the world of VPNs. I recently got SurfShark configured and working as my VPN on my PC. I turned the "Invisible on LAN" option off expecting to be able to connect to my UNRAID and Synology NASs. (I also have my Kill Switch turned on with SurfShark)

When putting their IPs into my Brave browser URL bar; I'm getting this error:

When I turn off my VPN, I can connect like normal...

What is my best course of action to be able to connect to my local network servers while having my PC's VPN on?

Thanks,
Crab

Some VPN tools disable local lan access. I do not know Surfshark, but recognise the issue.

I did use NordVPN in the past. On Windows it allows access the local lan by means of a setting, on MacOS it did not.
Currently I do use GooseVPN, that allows access the local LAN.
If their support page does not help you: https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404292160786-How-do-trusted-networks-work-
Best to contact Surfshark and see if they give the option, otherwise you may have to look elsewhere.

What I've found out:

1.) If I turn off the Kill Switch, then I'm good to go with the local devices
2.) If I connect to the local devices before turning on the VPH (even with the kill switch) it seems to keep the connection.
