I've run into an issue that seems to be consistent. When a user moves files from one folder to another, then tries to open the files, they are not accessible. They have to disconnect and reconnect to the server for the files to then be opened. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

Maybe if you can describe what you are doing: how are you moving files; what services (e.g. file sharing SMB, or within the browser using File Station); which devices; etc.

At present you aren't giving enough information to go on.

On the server, folder "2022" has file A/B/C. The files are cut and pasted, or dragged into folder "2023". They show in the folder view, however cannot be opened without disconnecting and reconnecting to the server. On a MBP with connection to server.

So you're accessing the NAS using macOS Finder? Maybe then you are using SMB or AFP file sharing service.

Can you post screenshots of the SMB and AFP file sharing setup from Control Panel. Also what versions of DSM and macOS are you using?
