DSM 7.1 CyberPower UPS not recognised

I just recently purchased a CyberPower VP1000ELCD UPS and it's working well except for the fact that my DS218 is not recognising it. I don't think that it is a big issue however it would be nice to have it recognised as it is a UPS that is compatible with the SAN.
Anyone have an idea as to how to have the UPS recognised?

If it supports Power Panel Personal software, you might post the version you have on UPS. I don’t recognize the VP model.

Well, I "fixed" the problem, in that I had, um, err, actually plugged the USB into the computer instead of the SAN...
I'll go and check myself in now

I hope that I don't offend anyone by opening this thread again, but I seem to have run into a problem with my UPS...

It seems that my UPS isn't recognised by my NAS as I am getting the message "unable to establish communication with ups" in the CyberPower PowerPanel app (version 2.4.8.1)...I have tried plugging in the UPS into other USB ports but I am getting the same message, however, when I plug it into the desktop, the app works fine...
I have uninstalled the app a few times using Revo Uninstaller Pro and re-installed but I am getting the same result...

Does anyone know what I (yes it is me that is the problem ) have done wrong and have a solution?
