Clicking through the Storage Manager this morning and noticed that the Data Scrubbing task has not been run for over a year (I know, I should pay more attention).

I've triggered a manual scrub for now and the NAS is working through that task but I am still puzzled as to why the 'Last run' date is 25/01/2020:

I don't have any schedule restrictions in place either:

I checked Control Panel/Task Scheduler and I do not see a task set for Data Scrubbing but I do not know if it should show on Task Scheduler or not.

Does anyone have an idea as to why the Data Scrubbing task is not running as advertised or if there is somewhere else on DSM that I need to check for a better diagnosis?

❓

@Rusty It still didn't look like your screenshot when the scrub was complete. I deleted the existing schedule task and set a new scrub running every 3 month from the 16th and now it does look like your settings:

So all is well and grateful for your screenshots to know what I was actually aiming for.

I do have tasks for SMART tests but I presumed that they were not linked to Data Scrubbing. Both the extended and quick SMART tasks appear to be running normally:

Thanks Rusty - I do have a manual scrub running at the moment but I will check what it says when complete.

Looking at the logs I did notice an interesting snippet - some of my tasks run at the end of the month but if the schedule sets this as the 31st and the next month, quarter etc does not actually end on a 31st then the task does not run at all. I'll be tweaking a few of mine and sticking with 'safe' dates between 1 and 28.
