Hi all,
Currently I use Quickconnect on my DS220+. Works fine but from what I understand it eats some speed compared to using DDNS. Quickconnect is smart in that sense it understands when I try to access anything while being home. It then uses the local LAN speed.

How do a DDNS setup work. Will it also "understand" when I query my services from my local network and be limited to my LAN speed?

Thanks,
Roger

Thanks, clear and straight answer! As my router(s) doesn't support that feature I will have to stay with QC. Sometimes less options are a good thing... no need to think more about this. :)

if you have the option to create local dns entries , you could just enter a record of your ddns name and point it to your local nas ip. When on the home network any queries of that ddns name will resolve to the local ip.
