Hi guys
I have built a mesh WiFi network with two routers - WiFi Points (Synology RT6600ax Uplink Wired).
Both have current SRM (SRM 1.3.1-9346 Update 12).

My problem is that when I look at the WiFi Clients connected to the second router, it doesn't show me their IP address anywhere near them - unlike the devices on the first router where I can see their IP address. Despite this fact all devices on both routers work fine and are connected to WiFi and the Internet.
Second observation is that in my main WiFi local network settings I do not even have a DHCP settings tab ( Network Center > Local Network > Primary network > IPv4 DHCP or IPv6 DHCP???). This option is missing:

On the other hand on my Guest Network DHCP settings are present.
Restart doesn't help.

Any advice?

How have you configure the primary SRM router?

If you have used Wireless AP mode then...

Wireless AP (access point)

The wireless AP mode (also called the bridge mode) turns your Synology Router into a network switch. In this mode, your Synology Router provides wired/wireless access but cannot select routes for data transmission. Assigning IP addresses to clients in the local network is not available, either.

This mode is recommended under the following circumstances:
  • Your Synology Router is already connected to an ISP modem or router for Internet access with an Ethernet cable.

Note:

  • There are several limitations on the wireless APmode:
    • Features at the Port Forwarding and Traffic Control tabs in Network Center are not available.
    • DHCP for the local network is disabled, but your Synology Router can still assign IP addresses to clients in the guest network.
    • All Ethernet ports are trunk ports and always belong to the primary network.
  • To ensure that SRM packages (e.g., Safe Access) can function properly, make sure the Ethernet cable connected to the parent router is plugged in to the WAN port of your Synology Router.

Hi fredbert
I think you hit the nail on the head:
I have Operations mode in Wireless AP mode.

I have read and understood the official documentation that DHCP (+Port forwarding and Traffic Control) does not work in bridge mode although IP addresses are assigned.

I don't know if I understand the whole thing correctly, but the situation is that every WiFi client is eventually assigned an IP, despite the claim that: DHCP for the local network is disabled and therefore the assigned IP should be able to be displayed in reports, apps by SRM (devices on the primary router have the IP displayed, devices connected to the secondary have no IP displayed anywhere) - but if they have an IP address - why don't SRM applications display it, this seems to me like a neglected functionality in SRM on the SW side ;-(

Just because the SRM router isn’t assigning network configuration using DHCP that doesn’t mean something else isn’t doing it.

I would hazard a guess that you have another router that is connecting your private LAN to the Internet. That this router is running DHCP services, and this is what is being used by the clients even when the connect wirelessly though the SRM devices. In this situation, when the SRM devices are access points, it would appear that some transient data isn’t being passed from the mesh points to the primary mesh device. This could be raised with Synology as feedback and feature request.
