Hi guys, I would like to know your opinion about this:

It started to happen just by January this year, I detected it today by random checking of my DSM log. (I searched in log center, but from August 2020 till today I see that it really started by January 2nd, no other records in the past).

What do you think this could be? As I see, it happens just once per week in almost the same time - installed and after few seconds uninstalled (except that first time, it was uninstalled one hour later).

Oh, and btw. it's from DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 8.

Look at Task Scheduler... Anything related?

Did you get remote support by Synology recently? That is an internal Synology Support tool.
No, I have no new items in Task Scheduler.
And I didn't get any remote support by Synology for maybe 2 or 3 years. I also have no remote control activated.
Could it be because of Active Insight checkbox activated (in Support Center)? Will try to deactivate it and will see next week. :)

small update:
today I checked my log center and the story continues...

Anyone here would know, why is it happening? Every week, at almost the same time.
Thanks!

Check all "user-defined script" scheduled tasks. Check if any of them are scheduled to run as root and run "synogear install"

Then, even there is no scheduled task, check package center to see if Diagnosis Tool is installed. If it is, uninstall it.

Hi!
I checked my scheduled tasks list and no, there is no such a script. Also in Package center I don't have the Diagnosis Tool..
I contacted the Synology support and got this answer from Synology AI Support (it came in my native language, so this is the DeepL translation into english):

Dear Customer,
In an effort to provide faster support, the following response has been generated by Synology's cutting-edge artificial intelligence to help answer your questions. If the information below does not resolve or answer your question, please reply to the ticket and our support technician will contact you promptly.

Thank you for contacting us regarding the regular installation and uninstallation of the Diagnosis Tool that you have experienced on your system.

Based on the information provided, it appears that this phenomenon is related to the automated processes of the DSM system. The Diagnosis Tool is a system package that can be temporarily installed and uninstalled by the system for diagnostic purposes, such as when performing maintenance or collecting diagnostic data.

If you would like to further monitor or limit this process, we recommend the following steps.

  • You can find this option in Control Panel > Update & Restore > Package Update Settings.
  • If you wish, you can disable automatic updates for specific packages, including the Diagnosis Tool, and watch to see if this stops the process.
  • You can also check the Log Center for further details on these activities and look for other related logs that might provide more information on the reason for these operations.

We hope these steps help clarify the situation. Should the problem persist or you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The following articles may contain the answer to your question:

[1] System capacity for updates is not sufficient. What can I do?
[2] Why did I receive a system file change notification from Security Advisor?
[3] The latest versions of DSM, SRM, or packages are available in the Download Center, but not on my device. Why is this happening?
[4] What should I do if the CPU usage of the Synology NAS is high?
[5] Update

If your issue has been resolved, we invite you to provide us with feedback by clicking Rate Your Experience on the side (for desktop) or top (for mobile) of the page.

If your issue remains unresolved, please reply to this ticket so that our support technicians can follow up and assist you.

Sincerely, Synology Technical Support

So shortly said, not very helpful for me. Yes, I have the automatic packages update function turned on in my Package Center settings, but I didn't change this settings for years ... and the Diagnosis Tool problem started just by this January. So this should't be related to this, right?

Btw. I'm very disappointed that it was the automatic AI reply and not by a live support team member :(

You must answer in your Ticket that Synology's cutting-edge artificial intelligence did not help at all and would like to be helped by a Support employee.
Also, include your first print screen.

What Birdy Said!
I have had nothing but vague and outright Misleading Results from AI support... When They first sprung it on us, it did not indicate it was AI, and I went off on wild goose chase following it's incorrect suggestions, and when a Human joined the ticket, he, too, got side tracked on incorrect AI suggestion, but then determined that not only was it wrong, it was also causing a second issue.... Both isssues finally solved....
BY ALL MEANS, Suggest a HUMAN SUPPORT PERSON Join your support thread!

Looks like I will wait a bit and won't do anything, until they will fix it by correcting/updating the Survellance Station:

Synology Clown Support 💩 Uninstall Surveillance Station?

Or maybe, "Unplug your NAS" 🤣

It's only an install and directly uninstall within only one minute !!! 🙃
So, why uninstall or disable (Stop) Surveillance Station ???
I would do nothing and wait for the new update.
