I have two 3TB HDDs configured with SHR 1-drive fault tolerance. My volume is at 95% of the capacity, and I'd like to change to RAID 0 or SHR-1. Is it possible?
DSM only offers me to change to SHR-2, but I need more drives.
If I take out one drive, I shouldn't lose any data, isn't it? Can I format this one and connect it again to gain space?

You cannot create RAID 0 with only one drive. Your options are to create expandable JBOD, or single drive pools for SHR, JBOD, or Basic.

Be sure your off-NAS backup is current before deactivating either existing SHR drive.

A better solution might be to upscale to 2x8 TB SHR.

Thx. The way to do this (change to JBOD, Basic, etc) is removing one hard drive and formatting it? I have a backup of some important files, but the system is supposed to be 1-drive fault-tolerant isn't it?

You should be able to “deactivate” one drive, and then use that drive to create a second storage pool, and volume. There should be no need to remove/format the drive.

How can I do it? I can't view the option to deactivate/remove any drive:

To deactivate a drive, go all the way down to "HDD/SDD" on the left side of the screen in Storage Manager, select the drive you want to deactivate, go to "Actions" at the top, and select "Deactivate".
