Info Docker version in DSM7

For those that are interested, on a Dutch tech forum someone asked Synology Support if the Docker version in DSM7 is upgraded. The below reply indicates it is not:

We are planning to upgrade Docker after DSM7.0.

Unfortunately there is no announced plan to support this feature at the moment

As long as the current docker packge is still compliant with DSM7 everything will be fine.

The current docker engine version of the Docker package is recent enough to not miss out on features. Though, it would be marvelous if synology would switch to an unmodified version of the docker engine to get rid of the bugs and limitations their customizations introduced.

True, but nobody is forcing anyone to use it if they don’t like it/can’t work with it.

Today version 20.10 is out maybe by the summer we will get 19.x on syno
