A couple of days ago I upgraded to V7 of DSM without realising it breaks most 3rd party apps
Long story short I successfully followed an adhoc procedure here...
... or so I thought.
After several restarts, I noticed that there were no volumes as reported by Storage Manager!
Fortunately, I manually updated back to V7 and all drives were still mounted.
Obviously if I created a new RAID mount after I downgraded, Synology would have wiped the existing data
So, I have x3 questions...
1) Has anyone managed a successful albeit adhoc downgrade?
2) Is there a workaround for instances like mine where I found myself with no mounted volumes after downgrade?
3) Are there any workarounds to install apps like NZBGet, Transmission etc in V7 which required root privileges?
