Maybe I should mention that my PC has configured static IP.

And another update: also on my laptop the download speed is over 150 mbps.

So it is my PC. Maybe because of static IP setup? Maybe DNS? Not sure...

On your PC you can configure a dynamic IP using DHCP, but then in the DHCP server you can reserve the IP address you would have manually set.

If you have used a manual IP in the PC you still need to reserve the same IP so it doesn't get assigned to some other device ... assuming the manual IP is in the DHCP address range.

OMG gents, it’s a night mare :)
So wwwampy,
try these steps:
  • are you sure, that your laptops are running at wired LAN, during the “positive” fast speed?
  • if yes, are you able to use exactly the same ethernet cable to your “slow” PC?
  • if yes, do it. Better is bring your PC to laptop space and use same ethernet cable “way”
  • try the same test by Ookla, to the same servers (same as for Laptop’s Ookla test).
  • if the test will finish positive, open a beer and cheers
  • if no send us a status. Don’t use a harakiri.
Now seriously (for a negative scenario):
  • install Netbalancer from this link
  • it’s full trial for few days
  • send me a screenshot of the main window (attached sample)
  • as you can see (highlighted parts), there is live traffic of all your services running

Is your PC in a desk/cupboard or something and therefore the wifi card is experiencing obstruction/interference?

Hi,

Looks like your LAN is 100mbit type, and wifi 1gbit.

So you think I need to upgrade my network card on PC?

Nope, get laptop from a friend which supports 1gbit (LAN), test with that laptop, if you get better speeds then you may need to upgrade your LAN card.

he has 1G Realtek Ethernet
so there is probably just Cat5 wire between PC and router

Sorry, I'm not 100% about it. But I'll try all above things later this week.

Well then I guess we can definitely bring back 100 vs 1000Mbit back on the table.

I would try booting some livecd linux distribution (i.e. Ubuntu) just to rule out application issues on current OS.

I think checking if the cable is a CAT5, CAT5E or CAT6 type is alot faster.

Ok, I've checked everything I could and I've seen that when a cable was in power line the led light on router become orange (not green like others). Then I found a long cable (CAT 5E) and connect it directly to my PC (the cable went over the couch in our living room :) ) and the led light went to green, the speed was 192 mbps. So, perfect!

So, the next plan was to convince my wife that the cable around doors won't look so bad  She was and is still ok with it! :)

Hooray, I'm on cable without power line now and my speed if perfect!

Thank you all for suggestions and support.
