DS 1621+ or 1821+ best hard drive setup for performance

I will be purchasing one of these soon. This will be for home use. It be used for backing up five computers, video, and Photo editing, and running VMs and containers. I thinking install six hard drives for one volume and two SSD'S to run containers and VM's, Or should run all hard drives? I will be installing NVMe for catching. Also thinking of purchasing a second NAS for media DVD collection and music DS220+ of DS420+ for transcoding my 4K video projects.

A separate SSD volume sounds better if VMs are in focus.

If DS420+ is a candidate, might I suggest waiting 12 days more? On the 15th of March the DS423+ will roll out officially.
