DS cam DS cam app update has created security concerns. Any ideas? Thx

Is anyone else having issues with the new DS Cam app update? It appears so much less secure. Am I missing something?

The new app appears to keep your login credentials between sessions, even if you close the app. To reopen the app and get access to the cameras again, you just enter the simple 4 digit pin.

The app has randomly turned off the pin requirement on its own in the past and I've had to set it up again. So the updated app (when the pin security disables itself again) will leave my cameras wide open to anyone with my phone.

I preferred being able to key in the entire password to gain access to the cameras. Does anyone know if there is a way to use the old app login interface?

I've put the DS Cam app into a secure folder on my android device to secure it. Now I have more than an unreliable 4 digit pin.

DS CAM Remembered logins & passwords before, too.
?? As does DS FILE, DS FINDER, DS ROUTER.

I would think anyone finding your phone would have to enter password of phone to get in. Wouldn’t that count for something?

I do agree with you, however, that as much as DS CAM IS displaying until camera's come up. IS A BIT TOO MUCH

I agree. I used to be able to just tell DS CAM to not remember my password, now I would have to delete the server info to prevent an automatic login. Android secure folder helped fix the issue.
